I just heard the Pointer Sisters' version of 'Santa Claus is Coming to Town', which is basically a cover of Bruce Springsteen's arrangement of that song. June Pointer even does the low Clarence Clemons vocal part, which, as a side note, is kind of creepy.
 
But then it occurred to me that the Pointer Sisters also covered 'Fire' by Springsteen. It's pretty weird that the Pointer Sisters had such a Springsteen fixation, when you stop and think about it. I like to imagine the three of them sitting around doing cocaine and listening to 'The River.'
 
Or, alternatively, the three of them discussing how to recapture the magic in like 1987 by covering something off 'Born in the USA.' Yes, that's what the world needs, a 1987 Pointer Sisters version of 'Glory Days.'
