Wonka Tangy Taffy Purple Herman Grape Flavor
Boy, does this bring back memories. Tangy Taffy ("urban" folks know it these days as Laffy Taffy
by "urban" I mean city-dwelling, of course) is certainly a venerable candy; I can remember eating it when I was young enough to lose baby teeth in it. It tastes pretty much just like I remember it; very sweet and to a less extent, tart. The grape flavor is not overpowering, but the sweetness is almost crazily overwhelming by the time you reach the end of the
uh
stick? Bar? Well, whatever you call it, Tangy Taffy is still decent, but best left to folks with a higher tolerance for chewy sugary tartness than I have. Guess I'm not as young or "urban" as I used to be. Maybe I could gain some street cred back by recording a sexy double-entendre R&B song called "Purple Herman."
