Boogie Down!

Why do I listen to these albums? So you don't have to. Oh, you wouldn't anyway, even if I didn't? Oh crap, then we all lose.

Boogie Down! is yet another run-of-the-mill disco album, distinguished mainly by the junky looking nudie cover and titles like "Move Your Ass Gringo" and "Belly Button." As with most records of this ilk, it's immaculately produced and tightly played, to the point of not really even registering very much at all.

A couple of sample-able breaks, and a few good lines like "Whatever you do/I'd like you to party." Full-on four-on-the-floor drums, thumpy bass lines, blaring horns, meandering synths, and stock female singers going "That's what it's all about," "I want you to dance with me," "Whooooaaa," etc.

"Put the Funk Back" is a rewrite of "Manhattan Skyline" from Saturday Night Fever, but it's hardly unique in that respect.

I guarantee you I'm the only person who has listened to this album in the past 20 years. Wait, what do you mean, "Of course you are, loser ass?"
