![]() Sabastian Boaz Savvy dorm-room electroshit, striking a curious posture between admirably quixotic 80s throwback-ism and the underbaked non-Beethoven of Nintendo 64 … perfect for putting on in the background while you give your dog a New Romantic hairdo. It's done with a lot of heart, certainly, though it's no grand statement. Not that it's trying to be. I do like how the generation younger than mine seems to invest a lot of energy reimagining the past, much like the generation before mine spent a lot of time imagining the future. Hence, this is 80s music that could only have been made by someone who was conceived to 80s music, not weaned on it. Perhaps someone will make a Depeche Mode videogame, and this can be on the soundtrack. I'd like to play that game, though I sure wonder what the plot could possibly be.
