![]() Mariah Carey A pretty minor release, possibly exclusive to Wal-Mart, this offers five love songs from Mariah, the main draw being her cover of "Do You Know Where You're Going To (Theme From 'Mahogany')", otherwise only available on a couple import releases. The other four tracks have all been released before, some multiple times: "Vision of Love" (on Mariah Carey and #1's), "Underneath the Stars" (on Daydream), "My All" (on Butterfly and #1's), and "Babydoll" (on Daydream). As an EP, it works exceedingly well, since the two singles are a couple of her better and less overplayed ones, and the album tracks included give a bit more spotlight to a couple of otherwise neglected songs that are really good. The Diana Ross cover is done as you'd expect, very well, a bit paint-by-numbers as with most covers Mariah's done, but what do you want? She's phenomenal, she's fabulous, she's Mariah. Valentines is romantic get-busy music par excellence. At 20 minutes, I can't say it's that substantial, but it's a nice EP for the few bucks I shelled out for it. *Sob* Now all I need is a Valentine!
