 Hope Sandoval & the Warm Inventions I can't help it, I like Hope Sandoval. Her voice is like a long, savory nicotine buzz, rendering the melodic content of her songs irrelevant. This EP drifts in and out without anything sticking, but who cares. Sometimes all you need is sound. Songs are great, yeah, but what do you want, Hope Sandoval singing "The Star Spangled Banner?" That would just be distracting. It would be like trying to do your taxes while taking a candelit bath. Her voice is so seductive, attaching it to too much melody would probably short-circuit the world.
