White Chicks (2004)
Directed by Keenan Ivory Wayans
Written by Keenan Ivory Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Marlon Wayons, Andrew
McElfresh, Michael Anthony Snowden, & Xavier Cook
The entire joke of this film is implicit in its premise, wherein
ramshackle FBI agents Shawn and Marlon Wayans must go undercover as a
pair of Hilton-sisters-esque debutantes after inadvertently scraping
up the actual sisters' faces right before the big Hamptons Labor Day
extravaganza. This setup offers unlimited opportunities to show the
Wayanses in a variety of racial, sexual, and gender-bending escapades
punctuated by a surprising amount of on-screen farting.
It's not Herzog, certainly, though I found myself laughing pretty
consistently throughout (mostly at the fart jokes). A lame Beverly
Hills Cop-style subplot made no sense to me, but it didn't seem that
anyone involved intended it to; this was all about Shawn & Marlon
Wayans yukking it up as "white chicks."
Busy Phillips is terrific as one of the sexy debs who is duped by the
Wayanses' charade (even though they look like something out of A Gnome
Named Gnorm). Terry Crews steals the film as a greased-up football
player whose bravado masks a wide variety of weird personal and sexual
idiocyncacies. He, also, provides fart jokes.
